What is the best major/minor for energy engineering?
I’m considering a career in alternative energy, and so far I’ve only found 1 college that offers a degree in energy engineering. So my question is, what is the best major and minor for a career in alternative energy/energy engineering?
The school that I’m considering has many similar majors (chem eng, mech eng, etc.). They also have similar minors such as sustainability, chemistry, environmental science.
My school actually has a program called Green Process engineering, which is mostly chemical related I believe, but also has a green energy focus. Don’t think that’s very common though.
Really, if I were you I would just major in whatever discipline interests you the most, complete a minor in something related to alternative energy, and then just apply for jobs that deal with alternative energy.
