How is my answer to Feasibility of oil expansion (as energy) in Florida? Am I answering it right?

Florida is a high oil dependent state in which oil is produced and used at a high rate.
Uses for electricity for air conditioning and for gasoline in cars make oil an essential need in Florida which makes it highly expandable, also considering the oil wells near the Gulf of Mexico which is very close to Florida.
Oil is a non-renewable resource, but is efficient. Once we are out we will need an alternative, but for now it is cheap and does its job.
Florida has minor oil reserves, however there are oil deposits located federal administered Outer Continental Shelf(OCS) off the Western Coast of Florida.
Oil is exported from Northwestern Panhandle which produces some crude oil from smaller fields in the South.
The demand for oil in Florida due to tourism and transportation is one among many, one of the highest in the country.
More petroleum fired electricity is generated in Florida than in any other State.

I would give this a D+. You gave some valid facts and you stated an opinion, somewhat unusual. But 100% of what you have written is from outside sources, and 100% without analysis.

You need to collect one or two basic facts – such as:

Petroleum use per capita in Florida – gets to dependence, high use, lack of alternatives and so forth
Sources of Oil used in Florida – existing, potential, future.

Then some analysis: What if:

a) Cheap oil is cut off?
b) Florida seeks alternative energy sources (and what might they be)?
c) How soon must scarcity questions be taken seriously? “for now it is cheap and does its job” does not cut it as an answer.

Try thinking for once and not regurgitating drivel towards getting your ticket punched.
