Did you know that North America has greater oil reserves than the Middle East?
Canada has the world’s second largest “proven” reserves, and Canada, the US and Mexico easily surpass Saudi Arabia and Iran combined.
Add to that recent huge discoveries by BP in the Carribbean and oil shales and oil sands Congress won’t let us develop, with ANWR, and you have a source that could end the Middle East’s domination of the market almost over night.
How would you like for North America to be the world’s premier source of energy through oil, natural gas, AND alternative sources?
All it takes is one president with a vision and a Congress that isn’t so hostile to America.
Trouble is… that oil is like you say in shales, basically that means it is IN rocks. Not something you just pump and process you must mine it. That makes that oil extremely expensive. For that oil to be commercially productive, the barrel must be sold at about $140
BTW at that price we are much better off with alternative fuels.
