Instead of bailing out Wall Street, shouldn’t we bail out the American people?

Remember AIG and there exploits? Now the big three automakers want a bail out also. I have an idea, instead of bailing out these corporations why not use the money and invest it in the people that are losing their jobs, in the form of educations subsidies etc… Imagine the potential, we could use the money to create a bold energy initiative and train workers to operate plants, so on and so forth.
I would guess these types of jobs would need folks who are knowledgeable in math and science, as well as various technical abilities. So we could use some of that money to fund a education initiative for adults so that they could operate Nuclear power plants, clean coal technology and alternate fuels, this would benefit pretty much everyone, with exception of course to the Wall Street fat cats. What do you think?
