If we can’t even explain why WE exist, isn’t it possible that God could exist?
Perhaps God is one of us… just a stranger on a bus…
oh wait… (lol!)
don’t get wrong…
I totally dig science, although science can’t explain ALOT of things – even electricity is theoretical – radio waves – invisable, yet we believe they make the Radio, bluetooth, TV etc.. work – but know one can see them
“God” very likely is wrongly concieved by organized religion. Bent to be what “fund raisers’ want us to think, and I seriously doubt the “golden streets” imagery.
Non the less, people have miraculous moments, and hey, here’s a beautiful green planet here in this physical dimension, filled with mostly half sane people fumbling through life,
What gives us the sense of absolute knowledge?
Where does “life” come from?
WHO are we?
Isn’t there some kind of intelligent energy in the universe that is “bigger” than us?
?
Just wondering what you think…
If we can’t even explain why WE exist, isn’t it possible that God could exist?
That is by far the sanest theory that gets anywhere near proving even the possibility of god’s existence. But here is my stock answer:
“Only one possible reason god could *not* exist: existence itself.
“The fundamental error [in seeking the cause of existence] is the failure to grasp that *existence is a self-sufficient primary*. It is not a product of a supernatural dimension, or of anything else. There is nothing antecedent to existence, nothing apart from it–*and no alternative to it*. Existence exists–and only existence exists. Its existence and its nature are irreducible and unalterable.”
To say that “only existence exists” does not mean that planets and horses do not exist, as one questioner put it to me. But existence is the cause of all that exists within it. If something existed outside of existence that could be said to be the cause of existence, then being outside of existence would be a contradiction, because nothing can exist outside of existence, but only within.
CONGRATs on being one of the few to understand a principle of argument for the existence of god. This is not to say it proves that; only that it give good reason why.
But I think my idea, above, trumps yours!
Good luck.
