It is really tough for many folks to find a job when the economy has tanked, and this recession has a little ways to go still. The Global Experts now say the global GDP will be off some -2.9% in 2009, and the US is not expected to be breaking any speed records anytime soon. So, if you are looking for a job, where should you be looking? Well, there are several places to look for instance the following industries are doing okay:
- Energy Sector
- Defense Contractors
- Health Care
- Alternative Energy
- Government Infrastructure Construction
Now it is rather interesting that all five of those sectors have to do with taxpayer subsidized, and/or government funding. Apparently, the government is busy creating jobs and protecting certain industries, while over regulating or interfering with into obscurity all the others. Which other industries, and which sectors should you stay away from; well, here is a good list to consider putting at the bottom of the pile if you are looking for work;
- Automotive
- Airlines
- Trucking and Shipping
- Travel Industry
- Retail Sector
- Restaurants
- Entertainment
- Newspaper and News Industry
Rather than filling up this article with endless lists of all the economically challenged industries, suffice it to say that as long as the government continues to stand in the way, or interfere there will be more added to the list, and remain on that no fly list for some time to come. So, when you ask; “What Industries Are Surviving the Recession?” The real answer is “not many” and that list is sure to shrink, not grow. Please consider all this.
