Why do republicans consider that oil/gas is cheap in comparison to alternative fuels?

The dollar amount of oil/gas energy has a certain value that fluctuates. In the last 5 to 10 years we’ve seen it doubled. I don’t see any effort on the republican side to do anything about it. Oil oil oil is the only answer you ever get. They want to expand into pristine areas and destroy the environment. My question is, why are the costs of destruction of the environment, the loss of thousands of soldiers NOT added into the expense of oil? I think we are on the wrong track fighting for oil for the convenience of the Saudis. Our soldiers, by the thousands have sacrificed for a cause that benefits CEOs and Arab dicatators. Enough. It’s time we chart a new course. Keep track of the expenses involved with oil. How many billions are we sending to Iraq? Good grief. It’s not just the price per gallon that we pay! Comments?
