I have an Idea on something we can use prisoners for…?

Look at them all they do is sit and rot, never making a contribution to the
welfare of society, except maybe once in a while cleaning up a littered
stretch of highway. I have a new idea and they will be the better for it.
we have an energy crisis. I know how to help relieve it. We put cranks in
all their cells and for 8 hours a day, the will sit at these cranks and
generate electricity for a city. to help with food crisis, we turn some of
the prison grounds into crop land, and the prisoners will maintain the
crops the old fashioned way… this however is a rough blueprint. I’d
appreciate your input on this,to help me improve upon the plan…
If they don’t crank, they hurt, and will continue to hurt until they crank, until told to stop…
I don’t see why it can’t be done. we pay taxes to keep those prisons open, they should give us something in return. And a select few prisoners are like animals, and like any animal, they can be trained…

How are we going to pay for the people to make sure they turn the cranks? These are not model citizens.
